Writing and Editing Macros
This page will server as a central area for the Microsoft Word VB Macros I have created to help with my writing and editing. It will also include or link to descriptions of other advanced Microsoft Word functionality for writers and editors.
General Macros
- Email Cleaner: Have you ever been on a mailing list and received emails that look like this?

Or have you had an email from which you’d like to remove all of the automatic line breaks? That’s what this macro is for. It’s not perfect, and in places it gets overzealous about line breaks, but for many basic cleanup jobs, it should be helpful.
Writing Macros
- Manuscript Formatter: This macro will save a copy of your manuscript in the traditional manuscript submission format for magazine and short story publishing.
